Bidra med feedbackWe have my mom-in-law visiting from Spain, and I had booked a table at De Grendal about a month prior as I've not been able to secure a reservation at short notice, and have wanted to dine at De Grendal for ages now. We could honestly not have asked for a more perfect dining experience to introduce my husband's mom to eating out in SA! 5* Service 5* Ambiance 5* Wine selection 5* Food Our evening commenced with a complimentary bread selection; each boasting different flavors of herbs. De Grendal has a great choice of wines, which are served per glass or bottle and not excessively expensive. Their menu also suggests wines to pair with each meal. The 2 course meal is R575 a person and worth every single cent! I can not tell you when last I enjoyed my meal so thoroughly and there wasn't a bite that any of us could complain about. It truly was a perfect dining experience! I wish we had space in our tummies to try the dessert
The location offers some of the best views in Cape Town, with Signal Hill, Lions Head, and the majestic Table Mountain all visible from the vineyard. The scenery alone is worth the visit, but the wine tasting experience elevated it even further. Our host, Jamie, was absolutely charming and made us feel right at home. Her knowledge of the wines was impressive, and she guided us through the tasting with warmth and expertise. We were very pleased with both the wines and the overall atmosphere at De Grendel. A truly remarkable place to visit!
One of the best lunch experiences ever had. The food and wine pairing was incredible. The view of table mountain even better. The staff were all so lovely and made us feel so welcome. A great way to start a SA holiday.
Disorganised and chaotic. Arrived at the gate to be told no space for lunch but no problem doing a tasting. Reservation made. 2km drive up to the wine farm later arrived to be told there 's been miscommunication there was no space for tasting. Don 't waste your time with places where you 're likely to turn up with a reservation and told there was a miscommunication.
One of my favourite places in South Africa. It's a must visit place for its award winning wines, the fine cuisine and the beautiful scenery. You can also enjoy a game safari where you'll get to see the wildlife found on the estate. I would suggest a late afternoon visit so that you can experience a breath taking sunset while enjoying your food and wines!
